Little signs for many gardens

Ecocreative designed this unique interpretive signage system for a local government organisation and it has since been used by a range of community groups and schools. The signs focus on local plants, Kaurna Indigenous culture and native animals with an aim to increase the use of this beautiful flora in local suburban gardens.

Content development was a collaborative process between the council, the Kaurna Warra Pintyandi language protection group, and local schoolchildren. The signs have now been installed at a number of schools along the Adelaide coastline and will be help them learn about native plants and animals.

As well as being designed to complement the colours and forms of surrounding vegetation, Ecocreative focused on sustainable design principles using Australian-made post-consumer recycled plastics and a special graffiti-resistant printing method that fixes colour into metal. The durability and ease of maintenance will ensure that the message to plant local endures for many years to come.
